Pentagon Strikes Deal to Triple Production of Key Missile Components
The seven-year deal aims to triple output of seekers for the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE), a pivotal interceptor within the country’s layered missile defense system.
Officials stated that this move is part of a broader defense expansion strategy, echoing priorities set by the national leadership to build what has been described as an “Arsenal of Freedom”—a modernized, high-capacity production network designed to counter evolving threats.
"To build a true Arsenal of Freedom, we must strengthen every link in the chain," Michael Duffey, under secretary of defense for acquisition and sustainment, said.
"We are moving beyond the old model and forging direct partnerships with critical suppliers to ensure the entire defense industrial base is postured to expand production and deliver the decisive capabilities our warfighters need at speed and scale," he added.
